ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) was instructed by Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Friday to take action to finish projects that had stagnated.
For years, a number of FGEHA projects—a division of the housing ministry—have been delayed. These comprised the blocked sectors F-14, F-15, the Kashmir Apartment project, the Lifestyle Afro Apartment, the Park Road Housing Scheme, and the Skyline Apartments in Chaklala, as well as Green Enclave Bhara Kahu. Since FGEHA was unable to obtain the land in F-12 and G-12, development activity has not yet begun in these regions.
According to a FGEHA official, lengthy litigation caused delays for F-14 and F-15, but their PC-I was being finalized.
“We are finalizing PC-I of these sectors, including F-12,” he stated, adding that the Kashmir Apartment project would soon be reactivated following the opening of technical bids to re-award the project’s contract.
He asserted that during the past year or two, various actions have been done to advance all of the projects that have stagnated, adding, “We are also working to restart development work on the Afro project as soon as possible.”
However, it appears that Minister Pirzada at least recognized the difficulties faced by the allottees and instructed the FGEHA to take action to see the projects through to completion.
According to a news statement from the housing ministry, “the minister sympathetically stated that he was aware of the agony of members who have invested their hard-earned money and been waiting for years to get their own houses while referring to the stalled projects of FGEHA.” According to the report, the minister added that thousands of workers, including
Through process digitization, automation aims to increase transparency, improve service delivery, and promote financial sustainability. According to the press release, “This portal offers a variety of options for registered members with quick operations, convenience, and simple access to information.”
According to the statement, the portal will feature an extensive database and the ability to make payments online via 1Link. SMS alerts, a user dashboard for each active project, transaction and financial history, cost escalation information, a complaint cell, and ownership and liability information are all features it will offer.
The minister praised the work of the entire team that went into making the digital portal a reality and called it a step toward e-governance, which was one of the government’s main priorities.
According to the minister, FGEHA is a non-profit, staff welfare organization that ought to be service-oriented. Merit-based procedures and honest administration should be used to guarantee the organization’s maximum level of transparency. The minister also emphasized the importance of having a complaint resolution system in place around-the-clock, with a particular emphasis on quick and easy-to-use digital mobile applications.
